Jeffrey Edgar Kanne, 73 years, of Winnetka; beloved husband of Rita, nee Staller; loving father of his three "Honey Girls," Eve (Jeff Ulin) Kanne, Meg (Jeff) Leonard, and Sara Jo (Bradley) Slate; respected step-father of Michael (Jennifer) Karras, and Steven (Andie) Karras; proud "Papa Jeff" of Charles and Teddy Ulin, Emmalyn and Reuben Zane Leonard, Leila and Micha Slate; and "Jeffie" to Noah, Reese, and Blythe Karras; dearest brother and best friend of Stephen (Claudia) Kanne; caring brother-in-law of Mark Staller; cherished son of the late Josephine and Louis Kanne; devoted nephew of Harris (Anne) Pearlstein. A career stock analyst and portfolio manager, Jeff will be sorely missed by many loving family members, dear friends, and loyal clients. Memorial service Friday 1 p.m. at Am Shalom, 840 Vernon Ave., Glencoe. Entombment private. Dear Rita, Merri and I were both saddened to hear the news. Jeff and I go back to 1955 when we both started Michigan and pledged ZBT. There's a lot of water under the bridge. He was a good man and will be missed. He was also so lucky to have your love and care these last years.
