Jeffrey Rollins Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 27, 2025.

On January 23rd, 2025, a quiet and solitary man died in a quiet and solitary way. Jeffrey Alan Rollins of Griswold, Connecticut walked toward the winter woodlands just outside his rural home, then stopped. His soul kept going.

Born April 24th, 1953, in Marlborough, Massachusetts to Robert E. Rollins and Eleanor M. Hjulstrom Rollins, Jeff was the second of four children. He leaves behind his sister Lisa Wood and her husband, Ron, of North Easton, Massachusetts; his brother Dana Rollins and Dana's wife Wendy of Langhorne, Pennsylvania; and his sister Wendy Marelli and her husband John of Taunton, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind three nieces and a nephew.

Jeff shared 31 years with Jane Rose, the love of his life. A woman who always seemed to pick up where Jeff left off. After Jane passed in 2012, Jeff lived with an absence that was palpable and deep. It made him happy to be part of the lives of Julie Rose Allard (Jane's daughter from a previous marriage) and Julie's daughter, Sophie Allard. Julie passed in 2021. Jeff and Jane had no children of their own.

Jeff was retired at the time of his passing. He had previously worked security at the Millstone Power Station.

All of Jeff's siblings inherited a good bit of their father's love of clumsy puns, wordplay, and generally sophomoric humor. Jeff, however, had the misfortune of inheriting the bulk of it. As a child he loved to tease, poke, and taunt his sisters to make them laugh. Even as the years wore on and Jeff quietly lived out his life in the little country house he and Jane once shared, Jeff never lost his ability to say something that would make you smirk and roll your eyes.

Jeff will be missed.
