Jeffrey Shear Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 5, 2025.
Jeffrey Allen "Jeff" Shear, 44, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Miami, Florida. Born on March 24, 1981, in Albany, New York, Jeff lived a life marked by dedication to his craft, a vibrant personality, and a deep love for the things that brought him joy.

Jeff's early years were spent in upstate New York, where he attended Voorheesville Elementary School before continuing his education at Clayton A. Bouton High School and Canandaigua High School. He later pursued further studies at Hudson Valley Community College. From an early age, Jeff showed signs of being both artistic and driven-qualities that would define his personal and professional life.

A certified chimney professional with a passion for excellence, Jeff built a respected career in the chimney services industry. He began his professional journey with Winston's Chimney Services in Virginia before moving on to Northeastern Masonry and Chimney. His expertise and leadership led him to managerial roles within the field, culminating in the distinguished position of Chimney Specialist at the White House-a testament to his skill and commitment.

Jeff was known not only for his technical knowledge but also for his ability to lead and teach others. Colleagues often described him as motivated and outgoing-a natural leader who inspired those around him through both action and encouragement.

Outside of work, Jeff embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan who found joy in music, art, reading, comedy, gambling, and working with his hands. His creative spirit was evident in everything he did-from the way he approached challenges to how he expressed himself artistically.

Jeff is lovingly remembered by his parents, James Shear and Susan Shear; his brothers Joseph Shear, James Shear, and Jonathan Shear; nieces Grace Shear, Allison Hill, and Payton Shear; nephews Joshua Shear, Anthony Hill, and Thomas Shear. He was predeceased by his grandmother Shirley DeBoer; grandparents Helen and Lester Shear; and stepmother Celeste Shear.

May Jeffrey Allen "Jeff" Shear's memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A Wake will be held on August 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bethany Reform Church 760 New Scotland Ave Albany, NY 12208, followed by the funeral Service from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025, at 02:00 PM at The Shear household 167 Martins Hill Rd.

My beloved brother will be missed by many. Its hard to avoid the constant pain of losing a giant piece of my heart . All the memories and laughter, growing up together into adulthood and dreaming plans for future endeavors I will cherish forever. We will meet again Jeffrey, and it will be for eternity then. Each year I look forward to making friendly bets with Jeff when his Miami Dolphins would play my Buffalo Bills.
Although this is not a flattering photo of either of us he took last season, I feel it captures the fun times we had ribbing each other while hanging out. I now realize how important he was to me. Ive lost a good friend.

We Didn´t know Jeff for a super long time but he made an impact in myself and my families life that will last forever. Such a smart guy! One of the best sales guys I´ve ever met. Working with Jeff was a privilege and He challenged me and pushed me to a higher level than I ever would´ve been able to achieve if I had not had the pleasure. We are honored that we could call him a friend. Jeff , you will be missed!
