Jeffrey Stanley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 15, 2013.
Jeffrey L. Stanley Jeffrey Lynn Stanley, age 51, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away at home on Monday, April 15, 2013. Born in Elkton, MD, he was the son of the late Forrest S. Stanley, Sr., and Nancy Loomis Birch. Jeff was a 1979 graduate of Elkton High School. A mechanic most of his life, he was employed by the Ranger Station. In 1995, Jeff became the superintendent for Bethel Cemetery. He would say, "It was a privilege and an honor to lay them to rest for the final time." Jeff married the love of his life 27 years ago and was blessed with two beautiful daughters. He taught them how to fish and cook; but mostly how to treat people with love, kindness and respect. He was a lifetime member and past commander of American Legion SAL Squadron #15, Elkton. Jeff loved to fish and would grab every spare moment to get his line wet. He enjoyed playing pool, NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhardt, football and golf. Jeff will be remembered for his ability to fix anything that was broken, his honesty and friendship. As Taylor would say, "Daddy has completed one leg of his journey and now he is onto the best part." He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Ann Johnson Stanley; daughters, Taylor Ann and Autumn Breeze, both at home; brother, Forrest S. Stanley, Jr., Elkton, MD; sister, Yvette M. Culver (Robert), New Boston, NH; and nieces and nephews, Jarron, Joseph, Michelle, Brandy, Christy, Michael and Courtney. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Richard E. Johnson, Sr.; and brothers-in-law, Richard E. Johnson, Jr. (Robin), G. Michael Johnson (Sharon), and Cletis L. Johnson (Charles). Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in his honor to American Legion SAL Squadron #15, 129 W. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.
