Jeff died as he lived– on his own terms. Growing up in Sydney, Australia he loved being outdoors as a sailor, golfer, skier and gardener. Jeff studied engineering at the University of New South Wales. As many "Aussies" do, Jeff decided to travel the world, and settled in Vancouver, where he met and married Anne Cassady. Jeff and Anne raised two children, in a fantastic neighbourhood where they created many long-lasting friendships with their neighbours. He worked in Vancouver as an engineer at Thomas Mackay & Son's for over 30 years. Jeff and Anne enjoyed their retirement, spending many happy days over at their island home near Ladysmith. He grew grapes which produced many bottles of wine over the past years – some even drinkable! His cheery Australian "right ohs" will be sorely missed by his family: wife Anne, son Anthony (Janna), daughter Helen, and three grandchildren Jackson, Callum and Brynna. Please raise a glass of scotch to our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who passed away peacefully at Vancouver Hospital. Many thanks to the wonderful staff in both the Acute Care Ward and the Palliative Care Unit of Vancouver General Hospital for making Jeff's last days as comfortable as possible. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Church, 2490 W 37th Avenue on May 17 at 2:00 p.m., and a reception to follow.
