Jennie Lou "Lou" Smith

Jennie Lou Smith, Tudor, (affectionately known as Lou) age 76, passed away on November 8, 2024, in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. If you were lucky enough to have met her you would have quickly seen how strong her spirit was. She never hesitated to help those in need. She had such a lovely heart and was absolutely one of the strongest people GOD ever made.

She was definitely one of a kind …

She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Gene Smith, and her children, Jennifer Miller, Nancy Haney Eckler (Bill), Barbara Burton (Steve), James Dunaway (Katherine), Debbie Dunaway (Chris), and Latasha Mendez (Tony). As well as by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Jennie Lou was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Swigert, her father, Melvin Tudor Sr., and her brother, Melvin Tudor Jr.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a celebration of Jennie Lou's life at Zion Church, located at 308 Locust Ave, Lexington, KY 40505, on November 13, 2024. Family visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with services after. She will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetary.

Pall bears are James Dunaway, Michael Haney, Bobby Dunaway, Tyler Tussey, James Dunaway Jr, and James Hurd.
Honorary pall bearers are Travis Burton, Jeremy Haney, Zachary Bennett, and Cory Bennett.
