Jennie F. Vitalbo

Jennie F. Vitalbo, 86, of Carroll Township, passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at her home. She was born April 2, 1922, in Soveria Manelli, Italy, the daughter of the late Antonio and Rafaella (Marasco) Granato. Jennie was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and its Christian Mothers and Women's Guild. She, along with her husband Mario, was the owner/operator of Keystone Beverage in Donora for 25 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Mario Vitalbo, on Oct. 26, 2008; and one brother, William Granato. Survivors include her son, Carl (Diane) Vitalbo, of Plum Borough; four grandchildren, Lisa Vitalbo Hanington (Bruce), David (Katie) Vitalbo, Jennifer Vitalbo, and Mark (Heather) Vitalbo; four great-grandchildren, Nia, Kayla, Sydney and Nikki; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME, 40 Second St. Ext., Donora (724-379-6900), where prayers will be recited Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Philip Neri Church of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Donora, with the Rev. Michael Yaksick as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
