Jeremy Nathan Jenkins

Jeremy Jenkins passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 63 in Hanford, California after a sudden illness. Jeremy was born January 7, 1961, at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota to James Phillip Jenkins and Judith Millicent Jenkins (Eacott).

Being part of a military family, Jeremy traveled worldwide with his family, spending his early years living in South Dakota, England, Germany, Arizona, Michigan and Kansas before the family settled down at Vandenberg AFB, California in 1975 where Jeremy started his freshman year at Cabrillo Sr. High School, graduating in 1979.

Growing up Jeremy participated in many sports to include bowling, golf, ice hockey, baseball and coed softball. He even enjoyed a fierce game of ping pong and anything with some good old competition, he was there and always ready to go. The Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Kings were his go to teams, and good or bad he was there to enthusiastically cheer on and support his teams.

Of the many sports, bowling was his favorite and seemed to come natural for him. Throughout his life he remained an avid bowler and a great one at that. Starting at a very young age, with coaching from his parents and the great opportunity of attending bowling camp in Washington state he quickly excelled and achieved his first perfect 300 game in March 2013. What an amazing day that was. His passion for bowling never wavered as he enjoyed his local bowling leagues and state and national tournaments while also being able to meet up with friends and family near and far during these events.

In July 2006 Jeremy married Rebecca "Becky" Wheeler of Orcutt, California. Becky was the love of his life and when their lives came together, they not only had each other they blended and nurtured a beautiful family. Jeremy and Becky cherished every shared moment together.

Jeremy moved from Orcutt in January 2020 to follow his career with TForce Freight (UPS Freight). The move took him and his family to Hanford, California. While in Hanford two fur babies (Duncan and Harper) became new additions to the family. Jeremy's love for animals always brought a smile to his face.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his mother Judith Jenkins in August 2011 and former wife Sherrill "Sherry" Jenkins in June 2017.

He is survived by his wife Becky Jenkins of Hanford, CA, his son Joshua Jenkins of Grove, OK, daughter Kelsey Steele and husband Jason of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Mandy Wheeler and wife Aspen of Tulsa, OK, son Nicholas Wheeler and wife Cassie of Phoenix, AZ, and son Zachary Wheeler of Hanford, CA.

He also leaves behind his five grandchildren Jessica Steele, Rebecca Steele, Ezekiel Wheeler, Rowan Wheeler and Canyon Wheeler.

Jeremy is also survived by his father James Jenkins and wife Emilie, sister Jocelyn Carl and husband David.

A gravesite service will be held at Lompoc Cemetery, 600 S. C Street, Lompoc, CA on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm followed by a reception from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Johnny's Bar & Grill, 321 W. Ocean Avenue, Lompoc, CA.
