Jerome Filiciotto Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 18, 2009.
Our beloved Jerome J. “Jerry Filiciotto passed away peacefully on April 18, 2009, at the age of 79. Jerry was born in Mt. Kisco, New York. He resided in Thornwood, New York with his Mother Concetta, Father Salvatore, brother Frank and sister Mary. He graduated from Pleasantville High school and then graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He married his college sweetheart, Fannie Kate Ward in 1952 and they moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where their three children were born. Jerry’s first job was with Martin Marietta where he worked on the Gemini space program and ascended into a management role. After 15 years he moved to La Mesa, CA and began working with Rohr Corp. In 1970, he settled in Solana Beach, CA (where he resided until his death). Shortly thereafter, Jerry became a true medical miracle surviving an almost year-long, life threatening hospitalization and multiple surgeries, and lived with several medical challenges the rest of his life. He was then promoted to President of Rohr in 1978, left in 1980, and in 1981, bought his own aerospace company, KT Aerofab. After 6 years, he tripled the business and sold it. One week later, Katie’s and his lifelong dream came true when they bought a farm in New Hampshire. Unfortunately, two weeks later, Katie was diagnosed with leukemia, and a year and a half later, she went to be with the Lord. For sixteen years prior to Katie’s death, Jerry and Katie were good friends with Miss Patti Page. After Katie’s death, Jerry married Patti, his teenage idol heart throb, in 1990. He was Patti’s best friend and traveling companion, and he helped her greatly in her career, including the formation of her own record label C.A.F. RECORDS. Together they operated a maple syrup business at Hilltop Farm in New Hampshire. “The Farm was Jerry’s favorite place to spend time with his family. Jerry loved his faith, camping, sports, playing bridge, and spending time with friends and family. He truly touched many lives, and we will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Patti Page; his three children Dr. Sam Filiciotto and his wife Beth; May Plummer and her husband Rick; and Connie Filiciotto; two stepchildren Kathleen Ginn and her husband Kenny; and Danny O’Curran and his wife Jen; his 16 grandchildren Samantha, Rebekah and Katie Filiciotto; Brittany and Aimee Wise; Katie Plummer and her finance Kyle Speiwak; Carolyn Primeau and her husband Ken, Ericka and Jerri Plummer; Sherri Stapleton and her husband JD; Jayson Smith, Sarah and Page White; Killian and Kaylynn O’Curran; Kristen Watts, and two great grandchildren Bobby and Daniel Stapleton.

Patti and family,
It's hard to believe it's been 7 years... I don't know what made me think of "Patti and Jerry" today, but you were on my mind. I enjoyed seeing you at my work, when you would come in. Know that you both left an imprint in my heart, and Jerry (and you) will not be forgotten. I wish you and yours nothing but happiness and joy.
