Jerome Klein, 91

Jerome D. Klein, 91, of Brookdale Senior Living, Chicago, Illinois, passed away on August 4, 2025 surrounded by loving family in his home.

Jerome (Jerry) was born on March 11, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio, the only child of Marion Schwarzell and adoptive father Milton Klein.

He married Helen Butkowski on September 1, 1962 at Old St. James Church in Chicago, IL. After over 50 years of marriage, Helen passed away on January 13, 2013. Jerry and Helen were long time residents of Oak Park, Illinois.

Jerry was a 1956 graduate of The Ohio State University, and worked as a statistician in Chicago, West Virginia, Oak Park, and Cook County from which he retired in 2007. Ever a volunteer in his community, most notably he served as Girl and Boy Scout leader. Jerry's greatest joy came from being with his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his four children, Kathryn Sanderson, Robert, Timothy, and Margaret Klein; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Skyline Room, Brookdale Senior Living, 2960 N. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, Saturday 9/27/2025 from 11:00-2:00.
