Jerome Vertefeuille Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 7 to Mar. 8, 2005.
VERTEFEUILLE-Jerome was born March 23, 1932 in Montmartre, SK and died March 6, 2005 in Regina, SK. He was predeceased by his parents Lucien and Maximilienne Vertefeuille; brothers-inlaw, Gerry Giroux and Tom Bealieu. Jerome will be lovingly remembered and missed by his companion Nettie Weisgerber; his children, Diane (Gerald) Hendry, Rebecca, Daniel and Stephanie, Susan (Rick) Bereti, Taylor and Melissa; his siblings, Annette Giroux, Rachelle (Nick) Kaczmar, Laura Beaullieu, Rhea` (Jules) Bilodeau, Leonard, Lucienne, Dolores (Henry) Gdanski, Norman (Shirley), Raymond (Geraldine); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. Jerry was born and raised on a farm near Montmartre and moved to Regina to begin a career in construction in 1952. He enjoyed many years as a foreman with Hilsden and Co. (TelMed) before his retirement. Jerry never really retired however, as he was happy to lend a hand to a friend when concrete needed to be poured, a window installed or levels 'shot'. Jerry's great love was the game of curling, which he played until the week before his death. We will remember him whistling all the time as he went about his activities tending his garden or puttering at the cottage. The family would like to thank Dr. Pacella, Dr. Chalchal and all the caring staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic. PRAYERS will be held at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, 7th Avenue East, Regina, SK on Wednesday, March 9 at 8:00 p.m. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Weckend Celebrant. In lieu of flowers a donation in Jerry's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina, SK S4P 2R3 or the Regina Humane Society, PO Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7. Family and Friends are invited to sign a book of condolences at www.obituariestoday.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK (789-8850).

To the family of Norm Vertefeuille,

We at Western Litho Printers are very sorry to here of your brothers passing. From what I heard, he was a good neighbour and friend.

Dear Susan, Diane and Nettie

I remember the cherry red checks and constant smile that was always inviting. His devoted love and 'big brother' consideration for Dad will be deeply missed by all!

Our prayers are for strength to you and your families. Love, Denise.

Dear Jerome's Family

Your family and Jerome are in my thoughts and prayers. I was very fond of Jerome and we used to banter back and forth whenever he came into the club. Kept reminding him we were going to jump on his sno machine and ride off into the sunset - our signal was twisting our wrist as tho we were on the machine. He was one wonderful person - just someone you'd take right away to. Guess heaven wanted a peice of that too.

This is sincerely sent by

Jean (former manager at Anavets)
