Florence <\!m> Thomas Gerald Jerry Barclay, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, in a local hospital after an illness.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, in Florence National Cemetery with full military honors.
He was born in Lexington, Ky., a son of the late Thomas Lou and Scottie Miller Barclay. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Barclay was a planning & methods specialist with General Electric Company.
Mr. Barclay was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Joy Barclay Lowery.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patsy Joy Shawhan Barclay of the home; a daughter, Marilyn B. Jennings of Titusville, Fla.; a son, Thomas Frazier Barclay of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Elinor B. Leonard of Lexington, Ky., and Angela B. Arnold of Tullahoma, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. North, Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
Waters-Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
