Mr. Jerry Lee Benge, 71, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his home. Mr. Benge was born February 15, 1950 in Surry County to Hilarey and Lois Benge. He was a member of City of Refuge Community Church and enjoyed dirt track racing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Benge was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shirley Rose Benge; and a grandson, Brian Adam Moore. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lynn Finney Benge; two sons, Jerry Wayne Benge and Barry Dean (Christie) Benge; two grandsons, Jaxson and Chase Benge; one brother, Bobby (Renda) Benge; two sisters, Diane Day (Wayne Tuttle) and Nona (Bruce) Wagoner; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Welcome Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Jonathan Casstevens officiating. Jerry will be available for public viewing on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 1 PM – 5 PM and on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 8:00 AM – 12 PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Jonesville.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Yadkin Valley Home Health and Mtn. Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mr. Benge.
