On Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, the Most High called Jerry Lamarr Bolton home to rest from his journey called life. “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work” (John 9:4). Jerry Lamarr Bolton was born to the union of the late Rev. Romeo Bolton Sr. and Lou Nell Mc Clendon Bolton on March 7, 1954, in Gulfport Mississippi. He was raised in the Church of God in Christ and later in life he was baptized in the year 1992 by Pastor Augustine Green at Worldwide Outreach Ministry where he received Jesus Christ as his savior.
Jerry was educated through the Gulfport school system. In 1966 his family moved to New Orleans, LA where he continued his education at Bunche Village Middle School and later East Jefferson High School. Jerry worked at Kenner Shipyard, Ellis Zachary Taylor Roofing, and later started his lawn care service.
On November 24, 1972, Jerry married Debra Evans and out of that union came his daughter Delisa Michelle Bolton. Later in life, Jerry married Helen Lane who is still his wife until today. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Helen Lane Bolton, his daughter, Delisa Michelle Bolton Spencer (Orienthal Spencer), son, Jayron Jeremiah Joseph Fleming, his precious sister: Mattie L. Gray ( Jimmie A Gray); his nephew: Robert Lamarr Bolton who would assist his Uncle Jerry in everything that he needed to do in this life and his wife Crystal Bolton, five grandchildren; Debreail Christiana Garner, Marlisa Leechelle Norman, Milagra Marlisha Norman, Marvyelle Waneisha Norman, Marvin Norman II, and two great-grandchildren; Ya'Hiem Yahiren Scott, and J'Liah Dior Washington, his companion, Ashley Fleming, his nieces; Eloise Collins, (Micheal), Linda Bolton, Demetrice Price (Spencer), Monica Lewis (Leo), LaSonda Pierre, a host of great-nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Romeo Bolton Sr. and Lou Nell McClendon, His five brothers; John Earl, Johnnell James, Romeo Jr, Elise Howard, Willie J, SJ, His two sisters; Hattie Delores, Waddie Mae, and one nephew Verdeal Bolton. Jerry lived his life to the fullest and would open his heart to those that needed him the most. He loved people without judgment. In the last days of his life, Jerry Lamarr Bolton never gave up fighting and praised the Most High God until the end.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Sweet Home Christian Center, 434 Jackson St., Kenner, LA 70062. Viewing 10:00 a.m. Interment: Providence St. Mark Society Cemetery, 342 Providence Lane, Kenner, LA 70123. Services entrusted to Dennis Funeral Home (504)-899-8252.
