Jerry Lewis Obituary

Jerry Dale Lewis, Sr., age 68, from the Independence area, passed November 6, 2008, at his home after a long battle with lung cancer. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, with funeral services on Tuesday, November 11, at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Mr. Lewis was born in Independence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the carrier the USS Los Angeles from 1958-1961, and was a retired U.A.W. member with the Ford Motor Company. Mr. Lewis is preceded in death by his parents, May B. Lewis and Atley Lewis Sr., and a brother, Atley Lewis Jr. Survivors include brothers Robert Lewis and Ronald Lewis; children Deborah Bowlin of Dallas, Texas, son Jerry Dale Lewis Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren Ambra Denham, Emily, Tucker, Josh, and Blair Bowlin, Megan, Jessica and Matthew Lewis, and great grandchildren Miles, Heidi, Rhys, and Mariah, and his ex-wife of 18 years, Ermin Lewis.
