Suzie was my neighbor and a great friend for more than thirty years. I am really glad I got a chance to visit her on my last trip to Halifax in October. My memories of her are long and some of my favorites include: her family horseshoe tournament and having a sore arm for a week, Birks/Sanford family dinners where she could talk baseball and boxing to the boys as easily as theater with the girls, church dinner theaters where she always stole the show, the yearly F.O.O.D. Christmas Auction and summer theater trips to Wolfville. She was a one woman neighborhood watch for Park Avenue and Wentworth Street and many of us were very grateful for that spare house key she kept for us in case of emergencies. When I think of her I think of the Christmas village painstakingly put together each year, her abundant supply of Pepsi and her comical rendition of Cinderella that had Mom and me rolling on the floor with laughter. I will miss her! My prayers and thought are with her family at this time.

Suzanne will be dearly missed by all of us on the Board of Directors of Feeding Others of Dartmouth Society where she was one of the original members brought together by the late Honorable Dr. John Savage. Suzanne was our Vice-Treasurer and as Treasurer we became increasingly close friends throughout the past 11 years. She looked forward to our monthly meetings and if we had to cancel due to inclement weather, she was not happy with mother nature. Suzanne stopped in almost daily to Margaret's House to speak with Karen, the Staff, Volunteers and our patrons while she dropped off food, clothing and grocery bags. She was there whenever needed to assist with anything related to FOOD. She attended monthly Coalition meetings keeping every one apprised of what we were doing. At every meeting Suzanne entertained us with her humour, quick wit and stories regarding downtown Dartmouth. I personally enjoyed our times shared in the comfort of her home or our late night phone calls only interrupted by her not wanting to miss a runner being 'safe' at home plate. She never missed a single beat in our conversation and would pick up where she left off. We will all truly miss her and we have been enriched by her generous love and compassion for those less fortunate persons in our community. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends who adored and loved her. Rest in peace Susie-q.

We will dearly miss Suzanne. We grew up across the street from her in Dartmouth and going to Suzanne's for cookies, chats and funny stories was a huge part of our childhood. Our condolences to her family.
