Jim Ruddell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 6 to Sep. 9, 2008.
Jim Ruddell was born April 4, 1930, in Duluth, MN to Charles and Ada (Lewis) Ruddell. He passed away on August 28, 2008, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, WA. His family moved to Palmer, AK and eventually settled in Bellevue, WA. He worked in the family business as a commercial fisherman, then as a Captain on the Leshi Ferry. He then joined the Naval Reserves as an airplane mechanic. His career eventually brought him to work in power plants the rest of his life as an electrician and operator, which he enjoyed immensely and met a lot of lifelong friends along the way. He worked at Diablo Dam, Ross Dam and Boundary Dam for Seattle City Light. He then transferred to the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Chief Joseph Dam as a Chief Operator and switched back and forth as an electrician and a journeymen operator as he enjoyed the "hands on" work. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Ruddell of Bridgeport; son, Christopher Ruddell (Bobbie) of Ontario, OR; daughters, Sheri Hubbard (Eric) of Kittitas, WA and Teri Ruddell of Spokane, WA; one brother, William Ruddell of Moses Lake; sister, Joan Phillips of North Bend, WA; grandchildren, Stacey, Joshua, C.J. (Clifford James), Mikayla, Cynthia, Brad, Bart, Bridget and Barbara; and great-grandson, Dylan. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shannon; two brothers; and three sisters. Jim was a gentleman and loved life to the fullest. He will be missed by all his loving family. We know you are at peace and in Heaven with our wonderful Lord and Savior. Until we meet again. We love and miss you. Your Family. A Tribute Service was held Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at Barnes Chapel, Brewster. Services were entrusted to Barnes Chapel, Brewster.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I knew Jim for over 50 years. I was just a teenager when he worked with my dad for Seattle City Light. Years later, I had the pleasure of working with Jim at the Boundary Project in 1967 & 68. Later, when Jim worked for the COE at Chief Joe, I was working at Wells Dam and living in Pateros. I often ran into Jim and always enjoyed our visits.......it just wasn't often enough.

Jim ALWAYS had a smile and ALWAYS had a joke for me. Nobody was better at it. I will truly miss him.
