JoAnn Kitchen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 14 to Sep. 15, 2021.
TOGETHER AGAIN On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in her 93rd year, JoAnn Kitchen, wife of the late Frederick James (Jim) Kitchen, departed this earthly life to go to her Heavenly Father. JoAnn was born to Belford and Laurette Angle in a leap year on December 13, 1928 just before the year of "The Great Depression" 0f 1929 in Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania. God's plan started to unfold in November 1944 for JoAnn and Jim at Conneaut High School. Jim was a senior and JoAnn a Junior when they first met. By January 1945, Jim had gone on to serve in the Navy for 3 years. JoAnn went back to Pennsylvania, where she attended Franklin Business College after graduating high school. On June 18, 1949, the legacy started when Jim and JoAnn were united in Holy Matrimony in Conneaut, Ohio. They had to forego any honeymoon as Jim was a sophomore at Ohio State University where he majored in Accounting and JoAnn worked for an attorney. Jim went on to work for Goodyear as a controller. Their career and life with Goodyear took them to live in the Philippines for 10 years, Italy 2 years, Medina for 4 years, Canada for 4 years and then back to Medina, Ohio where they finished raising their family of five children celebrating 43 years of marriage. JoAnn was a socialite and was interviewed alongside Jim when he was selected to establish Goodyear across the world. She was always supportive, caring, gracious, loving and kind-a very strong person-always a lady-she made people feel important and valued. Much loved mother of James Frederick (Rick) Kitchen (Judi), Linda LaGruth (Robert), Deborah Taber, Mary Beth Millner (Randy), Michael Kitchen (Sandra); Grandmother of Cynthia Mravec (Joseph) Lisa Downs (Joseph) Laurie Van Den Bempt (Purcey), David Kitchen (Heather) John Breach, Dawn Deem, Stephen Millner, Amanda Camargo (Guillermo) Matthew Breach (Liz), James Taber; great grandmother of Robert Mravec (Alexandra) Joseph AbuJaradeh (Rachel) Rachel Schultz (Brian) Anthony LaGruth, Jordan LaGruth (Savannah, Elijah) Dahlia and Alaia Zayed, Annabella and Amelia Camargo, Miranda and Adam Millner, Kayla and Nicholas Downs, Emily and Tyler Deem, Cali Taber, Audrey Kitchen, Cody Earle-Breach; dear sister to Barb Fisher (Late James Fisher); aunt to Mike and Kelly; sister-in-law to Charline Ahlgreen (Thor)Aunt to Tyra. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of her wonderful life at her house on October 9, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Come when you can and leave when you must.
