Joanna "Hull" Hausenfluck, 58, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 1, 1967, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, Joanna was the daughter of the late Susan Daye "Myers" Hull and Roy B. Hull Jr. She graduated from Musselman High School in 1985 and attended Shepherd University. She worked in manufacturing positions at GE and VDO before dedicating 18 years of her professional life as a research technician at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where she was known for her dedication, integrity, and vibrant spirit.

Outside of work, Joanna had a deep passion for cultivating spicy pepper plants and was an avid movie connoisseur. Her unique blend of curiosity and creativity made her a cherished friend and an unforgettable presence to all who knew her.

Joanna is survived by her loving daughter, Olivia Daye Hausenfluck; her beloved grandchildren, Ayla Maye Hausenfluck-Wagner and Zion Ira Jenkins. She is also survived by husband, Rusty Maxwell Hausenfluck; her sister, Allison (Hull) Halron and her husband Michael; her mother- and father-in-law, Merrill and Joyce Hausenfluck; sister-in-law, Wandette (Hausenfluck) Chin and her husband Jason; and brother-in-law, Merrill Hausenfluck and his wife Tamara.

Joanna's memory will be forever treasured by her nieces and nephews: Elizabeth (Parrish) Smith and her husband Andrew; Emily Parrish-Rawson and her husband B. Scott; Matthew Brill and his wife Amanda; Kasey (Brill) Carrano and her husband Salvatore; Abigail Chin; Gavin, Logan, and Thea Hausenfluck. She also leaves behind dear friends Connie Stotelmyer, Jennifer Jeter, and many colleagues from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

In addition to her parents, Joanna is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents: Gaines and Margaret Timberlake, and her stepfather: Donald R. Krause.

Family and friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:00PM.
