Joanne Locke Obituary

Published by Greenwich Time on Sep. 13, 2022.
Joanne Bosilevas Locke
Joanne Bosilevas Locke, 70, passed away at Greenwich Hospital on September 11th after a one-month battle with Stage Four cancer.
Born and raised in Greenwich, she attended K-6 at a school in central Greenwich run by the Lutheran Church, Central Junior High School, and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1970. Joanne went on to earn a four-year degree in Marketing from Fairfield University.
Shortly after graduating from college, she met her future husband, Doug Locke, an airline pilot. They lived in Cape Cod and later Las Vegas until ten years ago when they returned to Greenwich to assist her ailing mother. Joanne and Doug would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this year.
A lifelong devout Catholic, Joanne was involved with many charitable endeavors with the church, but she was proudest of her efforts to assist the priests with their Prison Ministry in Las Vegas.
Joanne will be sorely missed by her husband, her two cousins, and her many close friends here in Greenwich and throughout the country.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held at St. Mary's Church on Greenwich Avenue on Thursday, September 15 at 10:00 am, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.

We are very saddened to hear this news. Joanne was our landlord for several years. She was absolutely wonderful person. A caring soul who I can recall taking care of her elderly mother until the end. When we started a family and moved to Fairfield, Joanne and Doug would come visit for our kids birthday parties. We kept in touch but pandemic made it tougher the last 3 years. Heather and I are so thankful to you, Joanne. You will never be forgotten for your kindness and generosity.

Sad to hear this. Joanne had beautiful long straight hair. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Joanne, I'll always remember how kind you were to get Island Beach Boat passes when I was in Greenwich two years ago and how much fun we had that day. Also seeing you at our Just Us Zooms made me happy. Your calm organized manner, pretty long hair and smile will be missed. Rest in peace.

I didn't know Joanne in High School even though we graduated in 1970. I met her and Doug riding the Island Beach Boat for the last 2 summers. She was kind enough to pick up a 100 year old WW 11 veteran that we both knew. She will be missed.

It may be goodbye on this temporal plane, but a whole eternity awaits us. I will see you again, my friend. That brings me great comfort in the meantime.
