Joel Harold Jarvis

Joel Harold Jarvis, 61, of Palmetto went home to be with the Lord on January 12, 2012. Born in Hudson Falls, NY on June 12, 1950, he moved to Florida at the age of 14. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1971. At that time he met and married his wife Cindy. Together they moved to Palmetto in 1976 where he, his father and brother started Jarvis Enterprises, Jarvis Construction. Joel was involved with many of the historical renovations of Palmetto. His final project was the restoration of the historic Olympia Theatre. Joel is survived by his loving wife Cindy or 40 years, his children, Joel H. Jarvis, (Nancy), Noah S. Jarvis, Kristin E. Jarvis and four grandchildren. Also his brother, Ronald H. Jarvis, (Kathy); sisters, Judy Smith, (Mike) and Michele McCuiston, (Tom), along with several nieces and nephews. Celebration of life services will be held Saturday January 21, 2012 at Suncoast Baptist Church, 10th Street West Palmetto. Visitation will be from 11AM-12PM with services immediately following.
