John Alexion

John Alexion, of Fredericksburg, VA and Stony Brook, NY, passed away on June 22, 2023, just a few weeks after celebrating his 90th birthday. John was born in 1933 in New York City to Peter and Alice Alexion, who both immigrated from Greece in the 1920s. After attending Roslyn High School, John attended Hofstra University and received his MBA from New York University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and returned to begin a successful 50-year career on Wall Street.

His family and friends will remember him as a kind and gentle man who deeply loved his family. He was passionate about his hobbies of boating, home repair and classic cars. Always in motion, on the weekends John could be found at the marina working on his boat "Eros", in his workshop fastidiously organizing his tools, or in the garage caring for his 1969 classic Lincoln while listening to opera.

John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol Alexion, daughters Michele Alexion and Alicia Alexion (Ed Krauze), and grandchildren Maxwell Krauze and Nicholas Krauze. John was loved by his sister-in-law Frances Macchio, a nephew and nieces, especially Grace (Joe) Guzzardo, who held a special place in his heart.

The family will hold a private farewell but asks that loved ones who wish to commemorate John's life make a donation in his honor to the Fredericksburg, VA SPCA or Almost Home Animal Rescue & Adoption in Patchogue, NY.
