Christmas Day 2022 I woke up thinking of John and of Kelly. It's been decades since we had contact but I always thought of John as an inspired, true artist and a very good person. This morning I found their website, filled with a such a beautiful record of their work. I then found this notice, and want to offer a salute to John Barman, and my sympathy to Kelly and the rest of John's family.

For years, I admired and was drawn to John's exuberant, colorful design work, since I enjoy color as well. His scale and color sensibilities was unique and I got a thrill when he showcased his work in trade mags and on Open House. He will be missed and I send my sincere condolences to his spouse and family.

I knew John for over 30 years; in addition to the interior design work he so expertly carried out for me and my family, I counted him as a friend and a constant source of inspiration. I always marvelled at his amazing sense of design and fantastic aesthetic, but even more than that I loved his humour and his wisdom. Time spent with him was always memorable and cherished. My deep condolences to Kelly and his whole family, I will really miss John.
