John,
I am sorry for the loss of your dad. If he was as good a guy as you, which I am sure he was, the world lost a great man as heaven gained one.

To John's Family,

I remember John being a truly valued volunteer at the Lake County Chapter of the American Red Cross. John and Marion gave many years volunteering for the Armed Forces Emergency Services program which facilitated emergency messages for local families of active duty military serving worldwide. It was always a comfort when John and Marion were "on-call" because they knew their responsibilities and always exceeded what was expected of them. Wonderful role models in many ways.

John gave so much of his life in service to others and it's always sad to lose another from this generation. He has, however, certainly earned his rest.

My sympathies to Kathy & Rick and the rest of John's family.

As a friend to his youngest son John, and his daughters Ann and Peg, I regret not having the opportunity to have met Mr. Bitzer.

I pray for his soul, and thank him for his brave and dedicated service to our country. May he rest in peace.
