BRYSON, John Douglas
May 6, 1944 - December 31, 2011
Husband of Ana Iriondo, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully in Ottawa at the age of 67. John was the husband of Ana Iriondo and exemplary father of four sons, John Sebastian (Rivane), Alexander (Carolina), Patrick, Benjamin and a loving and devoted grandfather to Ana-Clara, Marc- Anthony, Giulia, Christian and Annik. Born in Cobourg, Ontario, he was the son of the late Dorita and James Harvey Bryson, brother to Jean, Bill (Barbara), Peter (Gayle), David and the late Jimmy and Bob (Sheila). John had a long and distinguished career in the Canadian Government Foreign Services, first with the Department of External Affairs and later with the Canadian contingency of NATO in Belgium. He loved writing, classical music, great books, playing the piano, travel and most recently, singing in his church choir. John will be forever remembered for his devotion to his family and his faith, his intellect and humour, his love of good wine, and long conversations. The family wishes to sincerely thank the medical, surgical and nursing team at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus ICU who were so thorough, helpful and understanding during his brief illness. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home 585 Somerset Street W, (centretown) on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30am. This will be followed by an 11 o'clock funeral mass at St. Clement Parish, 87 Mann Ave. In memoriam donations to St Clements Parish and choir appreciated.www.kellyfh.ca .

Ana, John Sebastian, Alex, Patrick, Benjamin.
