John Carlson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 6 to Nov. 11, 2018.
John Carlson
January 8, 1938 - October 29, 2018
John Carlson was born on January 8, 1938 in Erie, PA to Vera C. Badger and Theodore R. Carlson. He was raised in Lake City, PA.
John was a very active member of the community and served as a volunteer fireman for Lake City over 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and then returned to civilian life. He worked at Bucyrus-Erie for over 19 years. During that time he was transferred to Evansville, IN and then to Pocatello, ID. After the Bucyrus-Erie plant closed he worked at the INL until his retirement in 2008.
John supported the Junior Bowling program after arriving in Pocatello. He was also active in the NKA program and served as president for a year. He enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, line dancing and square dancing, gardening and especially his photography. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family as well as camping with family and friends.
He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 56 years, daughters, Kimberly, Kirsten, Kara, Kathlene, as well as nine grandchildren, Lacee, Connor, Christian, Sean Paige, Parker, Coleson, Skyler and McKeon.
He is remembered best by his family for being a devoted and loving husband and father and how patient and knowledgeable he was in life.
He lived life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at the Downard Funeral Home, 241 N. Garfield Ave, Pocatello on November 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of one's choice or to the Huntsman Cancer Institute would be appreciated by the family.

I remember John very well, I worked with him at the site for about 10 years, think if him often! He had great sense if humor, and was always very pleasant.
