John W. CARNEY

CARNEY, John W. John W. Carney, 72, a longtime resident of Cheshire, Wolcott, and N. Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Saturday (April 3, 2010) in Conway, SC. He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Frances (Kaczmarek) Carney. Born in Hartford, CT on June 27, 1937, son of the late Wilbert and Susan (Begley) Carney. He grew up in Homestead, PA and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. John , a veteran of the US Army, served in Straubing, Germany as an aircraft mechanic. He retired in 1995 from Sandvik Corp. after 23 years and also worked for The Lindco Springfield Co. for 10 years as a Sales Engineer. He loved to travel, golf and loved the ocean. Besides his loving wife, he leaves a daughter, Donna Marshall (Larry) of Cheshire, a son, John E. Carney (Megan) of Southington, a daughter, Deborah Day (Edwin) of Wolcott, seven grandchildren, Tim, Matt, Tyler Marshall, Ryan and Lauren Carney, Jordan and Jared Day. He also leaves a sister, Patricia Liner of West Hartford. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at The Church of the Epiphany, Huckins Road, Cheshire.
