John R. Charlton

Charlton, John R. 9/7/1929 - 3/9/2022 John Robert "Jack" Charlton of Grass Lake, age 92, went to be with the Lord March 9, 2022. He was born September 6, 1929 in Branford, Ontario, the son of John and Kathleen Charlton. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Lucille; son, Michael Charlton and his parents. Jack is survived by his son, Bruce Charlton; daughter, Suzanne (John) Fetter; daughter-in-law, Liz Charlton; grandchildren, Kevin (Lisa), Justin (Katie), Jennifer (Alan), Michael and Nathan Fetter; great grandchildren, Carter, Lyla, Nolan, Tyrus and Arya; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Tergarsky and Lorainne Green; several nieces and nephews; honorary daughter-in-law, Christina Sherwood and honorary granddaughter, Katie Wollpert. Jack moved his family from Canada to the Michigan in 1968. He retired from Midway Supply Company after 30 years of service. After his retirement, Jack and Lucille gave their time to the school helping with reading programs for elementary students. Jack and Lucille enjoyed traveling the world. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching sports on tv. He was a member of the Grass Lake Lion's Club, Knights of Columbus Bishop Zaleski Council #6687 and was a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Michigan Center where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 with Fr. Satheesh Alphonse officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 P.M. at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake with the Rosary at 7 P.M.
