John Joseph "Jack" Connelly formerly of Elk Grove Village for 42 years John Joseph "Jack" Connelly of Huntley, Born in Chicago on January 29, 1931, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013. John is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mae Marie (nee Meeks) Connelly; loving father of Susan (Michael) Hennelly, Timothy (Deb Gallagher) and William; cherished grandfather of Katie and Jack Hennelly; dear brother of Lois O'Connell, Evelyn Walz and Patricia (Tom) Kearney and brother-in-law of Mary Lou Connelly and John Capalbo. He also is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Evelyn (nee Earl) Connelly; his brothers, Robert and James and his sisters, Vivian Capalbo and Carol (Jack) Hawley. John was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and served as an electrician on the USS Philippine Sea. He was a member of the IBEW, Local 134 and a member of the color guard at the VFW post 9284 in Elk Grove Village. Many will remember him as the very nice man at the VFW Bingo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25th from 3:00 -9:00 pm at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village. Chapel prayers will be said Tuesday, March 26th at 9:30 am at the funeral home, proceeding to Queen of the Rosary Church for a Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Mt.
