John David DeRoche, born on April 2, 1957, in Bourg, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in Hawthorne, Florida. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, John was a resident of Hawthorne and a native of Bourg.

He also leaves behind his brother Calvin Jr. (Darlene) and sisters Julia King, Jeannette "Jan" Bergeron, Mary Pinell, and Angela Boyd, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin Sr. and Jeannette Boquet DeRoche; his brothers Paul Sr., Timothy, and Peter; and his sister Ann Prosperie.

John was a strong yet quiet man whose generosity touched the lives of many. A skilled machinist by trade, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. His dedication to his loved ones was evident in the time he spent with his sons and grandchildren, whom he adored deeply.

For over 50 years, John was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and found great joy in sharing his faith with others. His steadfast beliefs and kind spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

In accordance with John's wishes, no services will be held. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered support and prayers during this difficult time.

So many fond memories...I was only 7 years old when he married my sister, Becky. He was such a huge part of our family. He helped our Dad with home improvement projects - and there were a lot of them in that old house. Our family would pack a picnic and go to Avery Island every Spring to see the Azaleas in bloom. We would have family gatherings all the time - large meals, BBQ´s, bon fires and many, many, many seafood boils! But the one time I will never forget was when John and my Dad decided to fry a turkey for the first time! I was just thankful they didn´t burn down Becky and John´s house! I am thankful to have had him as my brother. He will be missed.
