John Dondero Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 24, 2025.
John Dondero , 79, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in White Plains, New York, the city where he was born and spent his life.

Born on November 5, 1945, in White Plains, John was the beloved son of Palma and John Dondero. He grew up surrounded by family and faith, values that remained central to him throughout his life.

John was a man of quiet strength and deep spirituality. A devoted member of St. John's the Evangelist Church, his faith was a guiding force in his life. He was someone who could always be counted on for support, a listening ear, or a thoughtful word.

He had a lifelong love of history and found joy in exploring the world around him through long walks and hikes. Whether strolling through familiar neighborhoods or venturing into nature trails, John found peace and inspiration in movement and reflection.

Family meant everything to John. He is lovingly remembered by his four sisters: Joanne Dondero, Karen Dondero, Marianne Dondero, and Susan Chebetar. Together they shared countless memories that will continue to bring comfort in the days ahead.

John was predeceased by his parents, Palma and John Dondero.

We will miss his kind and gentle spirit. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Graveside Service will be held on July 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at My Calvary Cemetery 575 Hillside Ave
