Dear Reds and Martha, I was sad to learn about Jack's passing and would like to offer my sincere and deepest sympathy. Eck and I played Little League and Babe Ruth baseball together. He was a good friend and actually a mentor for me in baseball. He was absolutely the most natural athlete we all ever knew. He could do anything he wanted to do IF he wanted to do it in sports. He always told us that. The man from Mary Street is now gone but his legacy will always be in our hearts. Reds, I always loved you and your brother. God Bless you and the family. Love, Ebes aka Skip Eby

I lost contact with Jack about 20 years ago but will never forget the many Saturday afternoons hanging with him and Chris Brandt @ Jack's Golf Center on Rte. 191. he was always at the ready to share a story and, more importantly, help out with whatever you needed, especially golf advice...and there was no one better at that. Jack's gone but his memory will be with me forever....

My Uncle Jack was one of those people that gave me wings. He ALWAYS had my back, and insisted that no matter what I did, I should reach for the stars, and I always do. He reminded me that it's better to fail than to wonder 'what if'. I went out and took more risks than you can shake a stick at because I knew he was walking in the world with me. And now he's gone, and I am about as grief stricken as I can be. Not sure how to go forward with all of these crazy dreams. RIP to my #1 hero, may you rest in heavenly peace.

I first met Jack (Eck) Eckenrode in the 7th Grade (1955). We became instant friends, and remained so for the past 62 years. He was the best friend anyone could have. We stayed in touch all our lives & he taught me a lot. He was always helping people, including myself. We were also business partners on several ventures. We will miss him dearly.

Jack and I were classmates at Liberty High School. Next to Tiger Woods Jack was probably the greatest golfer who ever existed. He will always be remembered.
