John C. Flood, Sr., 62, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Flood was born in 1945 in Prince Georges County, Maryland, the son of the late John Thomas and Faye Flood. He was a graduate of Surratsville High School and attended Towsen State University. Mr. Flood was a Vice President of RCD Incorporated with 17 years of service. He was a member and Deacon of the Church of Christ at Mountain View. Mr. Flood was an avid golfer and a member of PGA. He also loved billiards, Corvettes and DooWop Music.

Mr. Flood married Crystal Diane Kirkbride on June 25, 1977 in Orlean, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife of 30 years are three sons, John C. Flood, Jr. and his wife, Christine and their two sons, Niklas John and Kyle Robert of Stephens City, Virginia, Brad Flood of Winchester, Virginia and Michael T. Flood and his wife, Lindsay of Blue Springs, Missouri and his daughter, Skyler Josie Windsday Flood of Inwood, West Virginia ; two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Flood and his wife, Lyndon of Front Royal, Virginia and William “Bill” Flood and his wife, Julie of Westerville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at Church of Christ at Mountain View in Stephens City, Virginia with the Evangelist Charles Doughty officiating. Following interment in Shenandoah Memorial Park, a fellowship meal will be held at Church of Christ at Mountain View.

Pallbearers will be John Flood, Jr., Brad Flood, Michael Flood, Bobby Flood, Bill Flood and Johnny Hale.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel in Winchester, Virginia on Friday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Christian Academy, c/o Tuition Assistance Fund, in memory of John C. Flood, Sr., 153 Narrows Lane, Stephens City, Virginia 22655.

My condolences to John's family. I saw the notice in the Washington Post today. John was the best dancer at the Surrattsville teen club in the early 60's. He also had an awesome record collection! I was honored to be his friend. Though we never kept in touch, he was always in my heart.
