Dear Hessling family, you are in my thoughts at this difficult time. I served as a Cavalry Scout with John, and always remember him for his ability to make us laugh at the hard times and ourselves. He was truly a one of a kind Soldier. He will be greatly and sorely missed.

Dear Aunt Joan, Helenna, Paige, Jim, Tom, Kathleen,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you mourn the loss of father, son, and brother. While time marches on and all of us Hessling cousins are scattered, the friendship of Aunt Joan and my mother has been a long standing connection to family happenings. We hope all of you will be comforted in your support of each other, and that John is at peace. Gayle and Art Spruch
