John Hessling Obituary
Born in Carbondale, son of Joan Supon Hessling, Carbondale, and the late James J. Hessling, he was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale, and he earned as associate degree in science from Penn State Worthington Scranton. He was an Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post 221, Carbondale. He was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot as a firefinder radar technician.
Also surviving are two daughters, Helena Hessling, Dunmore; and Paige Mandarano and her husband, Paul, Scranton; a sister, Kathy Pelick and husband, Bill, Browndale; two brothers, Jim Hessling and wife, Anne, Carbondale; and Tom Hessling and wife Robyn, Milwaukee, Wis.; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home. For directions or to send online condolences, visit the funeral home website.

Dear Hessling family, you are in my thoughts at this difficult time. I served as a Cavalry Scout with John, and always remember him for his ability to make us laugh at the hard times and ourselves. He was truly a one of a kind Soldier. He will be greatly and sorely missed.
