Just read of John's passing. Worked for Selkirk together in the old days of Radio. Left us too soon. Always looked forward to John at company meetings. Did stand-up better than anyone!

To Anita and family
I was devastated to hear of John's passing. A finer funnier man
I did not know. From our first meeting we established a bond that lasted through all the years. He relaxed so many people with his quick wit and he left us all with many wonderful memories. Far to young but forever in our hearts. Special thank you to Denise for her phone call.
You are all in our hearts.

He was a talented guy who made his reps better and stronger. He could listen to a problem and try to find the solution. He'll be missed. Bill Mitchell, Kerry LeGree

Tom passed the news - I'm so very sad and know that even with years in between how can we ever forget the times we shared - cross country trails, New Year's Eve's, laughter and children.... a wonderful man who could light a room, set us all a giggle and who brought joy and wisdom to a conversation. Oh - too soon - my heart is with you all...

That burst of energy entering the room. The sun reflecting off the pate (I can see him giving me a "look"). His love of comedy. The knowledge that you were sharing laffs with a unigue East Van guy.
Can't believe this Brit guy is gone.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of John's passing.
We started out as clients in 1979 always treated fairly by John evolving into what I am proud to report a friendship.
I remember so many of the good times he provided but the one that stands out in my mind is the 1986 baseball all star game in Houston where I was able to take my baseball crazed dad followed by a trip to Gilley's bar.I am sure he will take his humour and love of life to his next stop. Rest In Peace YAK !

We are saddened to hear of John's passing. As a client you knew you were treated fairly and with a great sense of humour. And after John's days at CKNW, as a neighbour and friend meeting at Kensington Plaza for a coffee was always good for a few laughs. Our condolences to John's family.

So very shocked and sad about hearing this devastating news. I worked closely with John during most of his years at CKWX/KISSFM and all of his years at CKNW/CFMI so know how many great friends he acquired over the years and how much he loved his family. He was such a mentor to so many people and would always be there to give advice. The thing I remember most about John besides his incredible sense of humour was his great judgement and common sense. He could take any difficult issue and find a solution that worked for everyone. We used to joke that maybe he would have made a good judge like his brother! His office was always humming with people hoping to have problems solved both personal and business related. So many people's lives were guided by decisions they made based on advice from John and his passion for finding a way to get revenue in the door is legendary. He was one of the few sales managers in the business that told us to make as much money as we wanted and just give the company 90% back and truly meant it. John took that same passion home to his family and friends as we would hear stories in morning about his life outside the office. He had it all .. humour, talent and love and I will always remember the difference he made in my life. My thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.
