John (Jack) Marty Obituary
Jack was born on November 30, 1949, grew up in Cottage Grove, MN, and later moved to Denmark Township.
Jack was a talented man and a hard worker. A member of IBEW Local Union 110, he retired from Peoples Electric. Jack also owned and operated Valley View Farm, a local horse boarding stable, with his wife, Mary.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack enjoyed fixing and racing cars, snowmobiling, and riding horses. The Western states-Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota-were frequent destinations for his vacations. Missouri also became like a second home, thanks to some very good friends.
Although Jack's stroke left him with challenges, he maintained a positive attitude and loved to tease his therapists, nurses and his wife. He enjoyed the Vikings, NASCAR, a burger and malt at DQ, or going for evening car rides to view wildlife. His was a life cut short, but a life well lived.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Orville and Harriet Marty and by his brother Richard (Dick) Marty. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his sons Tim (Deb) and Mike (Marie), grandsons Jake, Josh (Kiley), Jared and Travis, great-granddaughter Evalee, siblings Tom (Dorothy), Mary (late Barry) Heldman, Mark, Linden (Mary Pat), and Debbie Martin. Also surviving is Jack's former wife Kris Frankfurth.
Special thanks go to Courage Kenny St Croix in Stillwater, MN, and in particular, to Dawn Burdette for her loving care for Jack.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held at his home this summer.
