John Joseph Kelly

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of John J. Kelly age 73, from Port Charlotte, Florida on February 17, 2024. An incredible man with a high energy level and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Imagine if you will, the energizer bunny on steroids. John was born in Britton, South Dakota to parents Rose and Laurence Kelly, he grew up in Southfield, Michigan where he graduated from Wylie E. Grove High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1970-1980. John worked while earning a degree from San Francisco University. He went on to own his own company where he provided products and services to the nuclear industry. At the request of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) in Vienna, Austria, he accomplished what seemed an insurmountable task also making him a savvy world traveler. A prolific writer, who was comfortable writing poetry or technical briefs, piloted his own plane and was a certified scuba diver.

John was a deeply spiritual man with a Doctorate in Theology helping people try to cope and overcome their life's sadness through hypnotherapy. He was at his best assisting others to find their own self-worth. John is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 32 years, his four daughters Dawn Marie, Brandi, Heather and Dawn Michelle their spouses or significant other, twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brothers Mike, Steve, Lou and sister Patti. His love and energy will continue to live in all of us. May the Lord hold you in his loving light and grant you eternal peace.
