On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, John Kristensen, loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at age 52. John was born Dec 14, 1965, to Leif and Sandra Kristensen in Aarhus, Denmark. He moved to California in 1977, graduated from Davis High School and received his Bachelor's degree in computer science from CSU Sacramento. He was for many years a software engineer for Retail Pro in Folsom. John was preceded in death by his father, Leif. He is survived by his mother Sandra and grandfather Arnold, sister Birgitta Kristensen of Glendale, CA, half-sisters Florissa and Greta (Per) of Denmark, dear friend Debra "Red" Banes, and nieces and nephews Izak, Jakob, Leah, Viktor, Amalie, Anne Sophie and Kasper. John enjoyed hiking, especially in Muir Woods, music from Telemann to Techno Funk, and friends in numerous organizations, including The Tall Club, Mountain Stream Meditation, the Sacramento Chronic Pain Meetup, and Oakland Danish Language Meetup. A memorial for John will be held Aug 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fair Oaks Village Hall, 7997 California Ave, Fair Oaks. Donations may be made to womens-empowerment.org.
