John MAIR Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Jul. 7, 2013.
MAIR, John
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, friend and uncle, John Mair, on Thursday, June 27 at Royal Columbian Hospital at the age of 83 years old. John was born in Cambruslang, Scotland in 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1960. He is survived by his two brothers, Dave and George, and his sister Margaret (Scotland). Also survived by his nephews Chuck Mair, Graham and Grant McEwen, Ian and Stuart McFarlane, his great-nephew Scott McFarlane and many nieces and great-nieces. John was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local # 170, for 53 years. He was a well-known "Sports Fisherman" and will be sadly missed by all at the Big "M" where he enjoyed his morning coffee for many years. The family wishes to thank the hospital staff at RCH as well as the paramedics who attended to care for John in his time of need. There will be no service by John's request.
