John P. Mann, III

York - John P. Mann, III, 63, formerly of Red Lion, passed away on Sunday May 6, 2018 at Manor Care South. Born on December 21, 1954 in York--known to those who loved him as "Sam"-- John was the son of Treva R. (Smith) Rexroth of Windsor Twp. and the late John P. Mann, Jr.

John, who was a 1972 graduate of Red Lion Area High School and worked for the Red Lion Water Authority, loved rock-n-roll and Gibson guitars.

In addition to his mother, John is survived by his stepfather, Gene R. Rexroth of Windsor Twp.; and his stepmother, Mary Anne Mann of York. Siblings, Susan A. Beagley (Bob Benedict) of Chicago, IL, Andrea M. Laucks (Mark), of Red Lion, Michael E. Mann (Mary Oberdorff) of Wrightsville, Beth Reed (Damian) of Dallastown, Terry Rexroth of York, Susan (Kunkel) Jeffers of Seven Valleys; nieces, Megan Leddy (Matt), Tiffany and Lindsay Mann; nephews, Jared and Jordan Laucks; great-nephews, Owen Leddy, Conner Smith and a special great-nephew, Malachi Sampayo. Remembered fondly by aunts, Clare Mann Haubenstein, Mary Jane Mann (Don) Smith and Lois E. Smith; and an uncle, James "Jim" Mann.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John P. and Rose R. (Eck) Mann; maternal grandparents, Wilbert W. and Ruth B. (Smeltzer) Smith; uncles, Wilbert W. "Jim" Smith, Jr. and Leon G. Haubenstein; and brother-in-law, Daniel T. Beagley.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Manor Care South for the wonderful care given to John. A private service and burial will be officiated by Rev. David Tietje of St. John's UCC of Red Lion.
