of Gladwyne on January 27, 2019. John was originally from West Philadelphia, graduated from Saint Thomas Moore in 1947 and joined the U.S. Army as a sergeant during the Korean War.
Upon arriving home he joined his dad in the McGlade and Son Landscaping business which his father started in 1943. In 1963, John married his sweetheart Margaret "Peggy" (nee Kelly) and their journey began. This year they had celebrated 56 years of Love, Loyalty and Friendship. He had uncon-ditional love and devotion for his family which was his greatest joy in life.
Last year he was predeceased by his loving daughter and "best friend" Sue Ann (Frank Wheeler). John is survived by his beloved wife Peggy, his son
John Patrick (Denise Melnick), son- in- law Frank Wheeler, grandchildren Sean, Ryan, Liam Wheeler and Luke McGlade. Brother of Eileen Van Trieste (late Carl) and predeceased by Sr. Mary Elizabeth, Bon Secour Sisters, Ann Lenidof (late Costia) and Hugh Patrick McGlade.
On this Saturday February 2, family and friends may call 9:30-10:30 A.M. followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Vianney Church, Youngsford and Conshohocken State Rds., Gladwyne. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Final Farewell (Burial for Children of families in need). www.finalfarewell.org
