John was my Godfather and more like family then a family friend. Every year as a child and well into my adult years we traveled to NJ to visit our family. We sat around my grandmom's table with what seemed like 100 chairs, and enough food to feed the neighborhood.
The entire Gigante clan came to visit us there, catch up on life, and laugh! I remember John and Kathy, always being a part of that. He took the role of my Godfather very seriously, and always made sure I knew I was special and loved! He was a great man! He introcuded my parents, so in a way I owe him my life!! He will be missed by so many!
Kathy, Kelly, and Kim I am so truly sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts, and I wish I could be there to say one last goodbye to my Irish Godfather!

I have known John since elementary school in the 1960s. One of the nicest and finest people I have known, just a great guy. My condolences to Kathy and his family and brothers Mike, Walt and Liam.

To Kathy, Kelly and Kim your husband and father Mr. McGuinness will always hold a place in my family's heart. John will be deeply missed by all of us neighbors he will be remembered by all the kids in the neighborhood every morning he would stand at the corner of walnut ave. and Glenwood ave and wave to everyone going and coming to Gateway high school and Woodbury Heights elementary school. He would take out his neighbor's trash and bring their trash cans back in. He will have long lasting memories from all of the Woodbury Heights community. Also as one of our best customers when we owned Pizza City from 1991 to 2008 everyone new Mr. McGuinness and the big heart he had for all his neighbor's and community. Your husband and father will always be in our hearts and memories forever he was a very good man. We will keep you all in our prayers From the Manzella family Theresa,Mario,Maria Vincenza,Mario Jr.and Matteo
