John Michael Peterson

September 8, 1950 - March 22, 2025

John Michael ("Mike") Peterson, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on March 22, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 74.

Mike was born September 8, 1950, in Monticello, Utah, to John Marlin Peterson and Alberta Jacqueline Anderson Peterson Southouse. He was the third of four children. He had two older sisters, Colleen and Roberta, and a younger brother, Terry.

Mike was raised in Lehi, Utah, where his adventurous spirit led him to spend most of his time running in the fields and playing in his Uncle Ben's creek. He learned to waterski in the Lehi canal - pulled by a truck driving next to the canal.

Mike was a successful business owner of a construction company in Las Vegas, NV. He spent his time running jobs and showing people what quality craftsmanship and integrity really meant. He built many restaurants and helped numerous people in the construction world start businesses. Mike's true passion can be seen all over not just the Las Vegas valley but throughout the country.

Mike loved spending time with family and friends, whether at backyard pool parties or on the lake. Being near the water was how Mike reconnected with loved ones and recharged his batteries. He found God in the simple joys of sunlight on the water, the smell of a BBQ grill, and the laughter of friends.

Mike was known for his giving nature, kind heart and strong spirit. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind countless memories. Mike was loved deeply by family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John Marlin and Alberta Jacqueline Peterson, his brother, Terry Peterson, and his son, Michael Rory Southouse Peterson. He is survived by Andrea Peterson (wife), Kenni Burdette (daughter), John Peterson (son), Tommi Hymas (daughter), Tanner Peterson (son), Jesse Peterson (son), Colleen Peterson (sister), and Roberta Nelson (sister).

A small graveside service will be held on May 5, 2025, at 12pm at the Lehi City Cemetery, located at 1525 N. 600 E., Lehi, Utah.
