PETRUNA JOHN THOMAS, Jr.
Age 90, of White Oak, died Monday, October 16, 2017. He was born June 18, 1927, in McKeesport, the son of the late John T., Sr. and Joanna Kaminski Petruna. John served in the U.S. Army during WWII, graduated from Edinboro University, and then Indiana University with a Master's Degree. He was a fraternity member of Phi Sigma Pi, and a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion Post 701. John loved golf and being married to his wife of 28 years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Lance (Lisa) Lewand, of Boston, MA, Lee (Stephanie) Lewand, of Highland Park; sister, Regina Mae Platt, of Cheswick; also nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Leonard Lewand. Family and friends will be received Friday, October 20, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION & MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177).
