John Quattrocchi Obituary

Published by Danbury News Times on Sep. 26, 2018.
John A. Quattrocchi
John A. Quattrocchi, 71, passed away on Friday, September 21st at Danbury Hospital after a courageous twenty year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born on January 7th, 1947 in Danbury. He attended St. Peter's School and graduated from Danbury High School. He was a hard worker, quadrupling the size of his paper route as a boy. He worked in several grocery stores starting at the age of sixteen. His longest stint was at Finast, formerly on Main Street.
John's greatest love was music. He had a golden voice singing in the St. Peter's Boys Choir. He was an amazing soloist and attended practice before school started every morning. As an adult, he sang in the choir at St. Joseph's Church in Brookfield. He was trained as an excellent cantor. Singing was his joy.
John was predeceased by his loving mother, Winifred Manton and his step-father, William Manton. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Reiss, his step-brother Bill Manton and his step-sister, Mary Jane Connors. He also leaves two nieces Anne-Marie Balogh and Claire Rentz (Allan), one nephew Robb Balogh and two grand-nephews, Alex Miloscia and Michael Rentz.
A wake will be held Friday, September 28th, 4-7 p.m. at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury, CT.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in John's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 375 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

I remember John from the St. Joe's choir in Brookfield: He sang with such passion and enthusiasm, even through the physical difficulty of standing with the choir. I would later learn that his Mom was a good friend of my Grandma, and many years later, I learned he is my cousin on the LaPine side of the family. My condolences to his family on this sad loss, and John, may you rest in peace.

John was in my home room at Danbury High and he was the nicest and sweetest guy with such a big heart. I am sorry to hear about his suffering, but I am sure he is at peace and probably singing with the angels. My condolences to his family on their loss.

John, Your suffering is done. May you finally get the peace you deserve. You were the sweetest kid. I remember the cold winter days when we stashed your bike and I took you around on your paper route. You always had a smile on your face . You didn't deserve the years of pain and suffering. I love you. Aunt Angie
