John Schoel Obituary

Graveside service for John Schoel of Tuscumbia will be today at 3 p.m. at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville with John Perdue officiating and Pinkard Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 2 to 3 p.m.
Mr. Schoel died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Helen Keller Hospital. He was a former revenue manager with the Alabama Revenue Department. He was grandfather to the late Elizabeth Scott Schoel.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Cook Schoel; one son, Scott Schoel and wife Susie of Decatur; two daughters, Cynnie Bates and husband John of Harrodsburg, Ky. and Susan Kirkes and husband Steve of Decatur; eight grandchildren, Josh Bates, Will Bates, Murphy Schoel, Jessi Schoel, Georgia Schoel, Julia Schoel, Cameron Kirkes and Sara Charles Kirkes.
Pallbearers will be Gene Bratcher, David Frierson, Al Futrell, Richard Melis, Dr. Jim Reed, Dr. Tom Shultz, Steve Copeland, Pete Walden and Don Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Beadle, Max Bailey, Dr. Sheldon Currie, Matt Copeland, Jerry Fuller, John Frierson, Dahl Gifford, Jerry Porch, Dr. Wayne Ray, Frank Spell, Marion Tinsley, Nick Wright and Dr. Jamshid Nayeer.
Memorial donations may be made to the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Disorders, 650 N. Cannon Avenue, Suite 17, Lansdale, PA 19446.

A nicer more warm personality I have never met. His greeting was always sincere and made one feel good. I know you miss him, but we shall meet again. Praise the Lord.
