John Lee Session

John Lee Session December 19, 1958 - January 14, 2013 John was born in Los Angeles, California, to Fred and Pauline Session on December 19, 1958 and he joined them in Heaven on January 14, 2013. John attended East Bakersfield High where he lettered in both Cross Country and Basketball, carrying the nickname of Dr. J. He graduated from Bakersfield College before a long and highly accomplished career in the Auto Technician Field. He married Julie Lowe in 1984 and fathered a son and daughter from their 7 year marriage. John was an avid auto racing fan and enthusiast of all things that go fast. His favorite car was always the Chevy Camero. John was also a huge fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Dodgers. He loved spending summers with his children and BBQ dinners with his sister Elaine and her husband Ric. Recently, nothing brought John more joy than to have the fortune of giving away his daughter in marriage on September 8, 2012. He was so proud of the young women she had grown into. He enjoyed daily texting with his "miracle" son Tyson. He loved both his children beyond measure. John was blessed to have parents that taught him about Jesus. He had a deep seeded faith and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and was baptized. He was generous to a fault always thinking of others first. John was preceded in death by both his parents, Fred Session (2000) and Pauline Session (2010). He is survived by his children, Tyson Session and Chesli Tabtab (Anthony), his sister Elaine Covert (Ric),, his nephews Matthew Masengale (Christy), Andrew Masengale, great-nephews Landon, Colm, and Liam and 1 great niece Michaela, his new found sister Rachelle Lisby (Rob) and new found cousin Sharon Adams, stepmother to his children, Kate Botner, stepdaughter Amy Granillo (David) and her children Saige and Drew, Also his beloved Aunt Imo and many cousins. A Celebration to honor John's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, in the Fellowship Hall at Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93309, with a reception immediately following. www.bakersfield.com/obits
