John SINANIS Obituary

Published by Monteal Gazette from Jun. 7 to Jun. 8, 2013.
SINANIS, John
1932 – 2013
Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the VIGI C.H.S.L.D. D.D.O, on June 4th, 2013. Loving and devoted husband of Kathleen Arbour-Sinanis, son of the late Philippe Sinanis and the late Eftihia Bogas-Sinanis, cherished and loving father of Jean-Philippe and Sabrina. He will be deeply missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins in Wayne, NJ; along with his many colleagues and long time friends. Born in Montreal, he graduated from McGill University Civil Engineering in 1956 and started a distinguished thirty-eight year career with Quebec Hydro. A builder and leader, he was loyal, devoted and true to his integrity as an engineer. He served, directed, being responsible for or contributing to a number of important works in Quebec Hydro, amongst them: Manic-5, Manic-1, Manic-2, Outardes-4, Outardes-2, Bersimis, Micoua, Pointe du Buisson, V.P.A.S. and Service G.M.T. He was a world traveller sharing this passion with his spouse and children. He passes, having loved and lived life to the fullest, with a "joie de vivre", being grateful for the blessings of his family and the many accomplishments during his career as an engineer. Visitations will be held on Sunday, June 9th, 2013 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm at the
Mount Royal Funeral Complex
1297 Chemin de la forêt
Outremont, Qc H2V 2P9
(514)279-6540
The funeral service will take place on Monday, June 10th, 2013 at 11am at St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2455 Chemin de la Côte Ste-Catherine, Montreal, Qc H3T 1A8 (514)738-3202. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal (5165 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Bureau 410, Montreal, Qc H4A 1T6) would be appreciated. Our gratitude to Dr. Michel Pagé and the caregivers at the VIGI D.D.O. for their professionalism and care.
