John Albert Terry II known affectionately as "DOC," passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 53 in Sauk Village, Illinois. Born on May 5, 1971, in Pontiac, Michigan he was a gentle soul cherished by those who knew him.

John was a man of few words but possessed a calming presence and a strength that was comforting to those around him. His laid-back and quiet demeanor earned him the nickname "DOC," a term that reflected his ability to soothe and heal just with his presence. His sister Juanita(Nieda) gave him the name DOC when he was younger! He loved her dearly!

A service to honor John's life will be held on August 23,2024 at New Community Baptist Church, located at 900 East New York Street, Aurora, Illinois 60505. Wake service from 10am-11am w funeral service immediately following. The service will be a time for friends and family to come together and remember the gentle giant who made a lasting impact on their lives. John Terry is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Fannie Mae Dean, maternal grandfather Charlie Dean and a nephew Jerard Devarious Martell Dean-Scott. He leaves to cherish his Mother Dorothy Brown, 3 children Donta Torres of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sharice Armstrong of Atlanta, Georgia and Johnathan Terry of North Aurora, Illinois, also 6 siblings Juanita (Emile) Dean-Abernathy, Antonio (Megan)Terry, Chiara Kirby, Tomy (Franchesca) Kirby, Terrika Fowler-(Dogaieva) and Thadijah Shaw. He also leaves a person very near and dear to him Graciela Hernandez his long time girlfriend. He also leaves behind a host of nieces ,nephews and 5 grandchildren.
