John Wesley Upshaw

Mr. John Wesley Upshaw was born April 29, 1959, in Nacogdoches to Urial Upshaw Sr. and Mandy V. Gregory-Upshaw. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1977. Mr. Upshaw completed an extensive amount of secondary educational programs. He was employed by Pepsi Cola Company in Arlington, Texas. Mr. Upshaw passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas. He is survived by his parents Urial and Mandy Upshaw; daughters Marquita Givens, of Austin and Maya Upshaw, of Arlington; sons Damien Hunt, of Grand Prairie and Darius Upshaw of Dallas; sisters Joyce Upshaw-Mills, of Nacogdoches and Jeanette Webb, of Cedar Hill; brothers Urial Upshaw Jr. and Jerome Upshaw Sr., both of Nacogdoches; grandchildren Dana, Deon, Sarai, Eric, Austin, Langston and Caya; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Paradise Funeral Home, Dallas followed by a wake from 6 until 8 p.m. at Word of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas. Visitation will also be held from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday Dec. 22., 3535 S.E. Stallings. Life celebration services will be Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Zion Hill First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
